This piece has a red ink called Naphthol Crimson it is my ink for red because it has a beautiful orange sheen to it when turned. I outlined the design with a black enamel and used water colors and inks for the inside of the design. The exotic wood is called "Wenge" and it comes from Africa. I melted glass frit inside the piece. Used water clear, red, and a pinch of black glass. Finally I carved a rock knob and glazed it with my signature glaze "Black Ice" to match the top and bottom of the piece. I was inspired to do this piece by a special friend/model on Facebook. :)
