This is a Japanese tiger style vase I carved today. More finished pieces to come real soon....
I use a tattoo machine for the tribal design around the piece. I then put a tattoo ink in the carving marks and the ink just flows into the carving and into the clay. I should do a video on this technique and post that as well. It is cool cuz the ink does not disturb the carving and just goes into the background. I am using this really nice ink that has a yellow hugh to it after it dries.
